Laughter

I met Jacqueline when working for Waitrose, I was her understudy, to cover while her and David, went on their amazing holidays - so jealous!

My overiding memory of Jacqueline is Laughter, no matter what happened she alwys seemed to find the funny side.

Most of these memories seem to occur during restaurant visits.

We had a Chrismas team meal at the Manor, Jacqueline ordered Prawn cocktail - looked lovely, then after a few minutes she turned to me and said “ should there be prawns in this?” Yes, she had received a prawn Cocktail with no prawns! That was not the worst thing about the meal,  but that started  the laughing, so all the rest of the problems, just created more laughing - wrong meals to wrong people, waiting an hour with no service, well, some did and some didn’t get served, to “ you can have  any dessert you like, but we don’t have any icecream …………All the desserts had icecream!

Steve and i used to go out for lunch with Jacqueline and David, when we could, and the whole time was spent with the two of them laughing and joking about what had been happening, with Jacqueline’s MS and Davids attempt to “help” her, usually  ending in Jacqueline laughing at David. The pair of them so happy in each others company. Steve and I always felt good after spending time with them. It made you realise how petty some of your problems, really were.

These are just a couple of examples of Jacqueline, David and their laughter, but whenever i think of Jacqueline a smile comes to my face because of instances like these. She really brightened up my life, and I am sure the lives of all those who knew her.

iIreally admired Jacqueline and her constant sunny disposition, I really wish there were more people like her around, the world would be  a much better place for it. She will be greatly missed.
